Art of Wrestling

16 in x 20 in | Acrylic Paint, water color, white charcoal on canvas | 2025

From a young age, art has been a way of expressing myself that words could never perfectly capture. Whether through sketching or experimenting with different colors or mediums, I found freedom in the creative process. It required no deadlines or strict rules, only imagination and discovery. Art gave me a sense of privilege over my creativity; it allowed me to transform simple concepts into something tangible and meaningful. Through this, I wanted to express the culture of wrestling and how much of an impact it made on my life. The sport helped me regain confidence and discipline, but it also showed me I wasn’t the only one who felt insecure or alone. I began approaching teammates and classmates who were sitting by themselves, offering friendship and company. Small actions like this reminded me that community is built not by waiting for others, but by reaching out first. It taught me the art of losing, winning, conditioning, and perseverance and through this, it matured me and fixed my mental state. Its a symbiotic relationship I share and a relationship that brought me closer to Christianity through its varies Christian communities. I don't see this as a simple sport, I see it as a gift from God sent directly from him to me.
