Climate twist
13 in x 16 in | Acrylic Paint, water color, charcoal on paper | 2024
In 2024, 2024 saw record-breaking global temperatures, exceeding the 1.5 C threshold from pre-industrial levels, which fueled a surge of extreme weather events like powerful hurricanes, widespread floods, severe heatwaves, and destructive wildfires. These events included record carbon dioxide levels, intensified Atlantic hurricanes like Helene and Milton, and significant flooding in places like Kenya. Through this art piece, I implemented multiple visual references that represent different types of Global crisis' such as plastic pollution for the wings, oil for oil spillages, a thick cloud of smoke resonating in the back for air pollution and a eerie skull for the angel's face for the deaths Climate change has brought towards the Earth.
